A 3 Day Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO Training and Simulation Course

The ECMO Advantage comprehensive training process includes:
- Self-paced eLearning Modules to be completed prior to in-person training
- 1-Day in-person Scenario-based Training with hands-on experiences provided at EC2
- 2-Day in-person High Fidelity Simulation experiences provided at EC2
- Access to Post-Course Resources for 30 days
This course will be held at the ExtraCorporeal Education Center (EC2) in Murfreesboro, TN, located just 30 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee. The AGENDA is 8am-5pm each day.

This course is intended for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Perfusionists and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure requiring ECMO support.
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Discuss the Neonatal and Pediatric indications and contraindications for ECMO support
- Explain the different modes of ECMO support
- Identify circuit components and discuss their purpose
- Explain ECMO physiology
- Assess and explain the adequacy of support for VV and for VA ECMO
- Describe the process of ECMO weaning for VV and VA ECMO
- Manage and troubleshoot the ECMO Circuit
- Discuss blood priming the ECMO circuit
- Special considerations for Neonatal and Pediatric patients
